Day 1: Arrive In Accra, Ghana.

Arrive in Accra, Ghana. Transfer from airport to hotel. After Check in, enjoy a brief orientation and enjoy dinner at hotel.

Day 2: Accra City Tour.

Capture a blend of colonial and modern architecture that sums up Accra’s history and culture with this city tour.  You will visit several landmarks such as the Independence/ Black Star Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the W.E.B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture and many more.

Day 3: Kumasi City Tour.

Take this wonderful city tour and learn all about the home of the great Ashanti Kingdom. Enjoy a drive through the city with monuments dedicated to the memory of the great Ashanti people and visit the Manhyia Palace Museum along with the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum.

Day 4: Ashanti Craft Village.

This day is devoted to visiting the three famous Ashanti craft villages. After breakfast depart for Ahwiaa, the wood carvers’ village, Ntonso, the home of Adinkra cloth, and Bonwire, the Kente weaving village. You will have an opportunity to see how African crafts are made and to buy directly from the artisans who make them.

Day 5: Cape Coast and Elmina Castles.

Early morning departure for Cape Coast. Tour the castles and slave dungeons which tell the story of the infamous Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Have a feel of the dungeons which housed slaves in transit and walk through the Door of No Return.

Day 6: Kakum National Park– Posuban Shrine. 

Take a hike through the rainforest and dare to walk on Africa’s tallest canopy walkway which measures 330m in length and hangs 100 feet above the forest floor. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at the beach after a visit to the Posuban Military Shrine where the Asafo companies, (Fanti traditional soldiers), prepare spiritually for war. These shrines are wonderful examples of how art is used in the daily lives of Ghanaians.

Day 7: Elmina – Grand-Bassam – Abidjan.

Early morning departure from Elmina for a scenic drive to Abidjan with a stop at Grand Bassam. You will tour the colonial city of Grand-Bassam, the former French settlement, and home to many colonial buildings. You will also visit the Roman Catholic Diocese of Grand-Bassam and the Côte d'Ivoire National Museum of Costume. Upon arrival in Abidjan, check into your hotel and relax.

Day 8: Abidjan City Tour.

After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Abidjan. Serving as the capital, Abidjan is the biggest and most important city of Cote d'Ivoire. With a population of around 6,500,000 people, it is the second largest city in West Africa after Lagos. Today, Abidjan remains the economic and cultural capital of the country. You will visit the public zoo of Abidjan, where you will see many exotic animals. Later depart for a 15 minutes drive to visit the Musée National of Abidjan which has a very large collection of over 20,000 objects, including wooden statues and masks, pottery, ivory and bronze. Afternoon visit the “Trechville market” where you will have the chance to get all your souvenirs (jewelry, clothes, cloths, pagnes, woodcrafts...).

Day 9: Abidjan - Yamoussoukro.

Depart for a scenic drive to Yamoussoukro, the administrative capital of Côte d'Ivoire and home to the late president Felix Houphouët Boigny. You will tour the Basilica of “Оur Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro”, constructed between 1985 and 1989. After lunch on your own, explore the city of Yamoussoukro, home to the Presidential Palace, which is now used by relatives of the late president Felix Houphouët Boigny.

Day 10: Yamoussoukro – Nzulezu stilt Village.

Nzulezu is an Nzema word meaning ‘surface of water’. The inhabitants of the village are said to have migrated from Walata, a city in the ancient Ghana Empire, the earliest of the Western Sudanese States. According to tradition, ancestors of the village were brought to their present place by a snail

Near the coast at the far western side of Ghana, near the border with Cote d’Ivoire, is a village that is unique in all of Ghana. Spectacular scenery of the 400-year old stilt propped water settlement of Nzulezu, is a unique village built on stilts in Lake Tadane, which is home to hundreds of people in the Western Region.

Day 11: Farewell/ Departure.

After breakfast, transfer to airport for check-in and departure. On the way, stop over to various interesting place along the road to enjoy last memorable sceneries of the western and central regions of Ghana.
