Overview

NORTHERN CIRCUIT+ ESCARPMENT OF GREAT RIFT VALLEY 

Day 1: Arrival
Jambo! Welcome to Tanzania the beautiful land of adventures.
Following your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a Tanzanian Velo Adventures representative who will transfer you to the Hotel where you stay for overnight.
ACCOMMODATION: Chanya Lodge, FB
Day 2:  Tarangire National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast your safari will commence. You will be driven from Moshi to Tarangire National Park for game drive. The transit will take approximately 4to 4.5 hours driving. Tarangire national park is spectacular in any season and many of the migratory wildlife species can be found at the permanent waters of Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, elands and giraffes gather until the onset of the rain, when they migrate again to good grazing areas. In the evening before dark you will be driven to the lodge/ campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Tarangire National park to Mto wa Mbu
Today we have a chance for an early morning game drive. This can be done after a cup of coffee, and don’t forget to carry some snacks, groundnuts with you. This morning you have a chance to see different types of birds, the large elephants heading to Tarangire River. We will be back to the lodge/camp for branch, pack our staffs and be ready to be driven to Mto wa Mbu. After arrival to Mto Mto wa Mbu which will take approximately 1 hour drive, we will set up our camp/ checking in the lodge before we begin another adventure. In this afternoon we will have a chance to do cycling for about 2 hours around the rice and banana plantations. Here you will learn Swahili through meeting with the friendly local people. Before dark you will be driven back to the lodge/ campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day4: Mto wa Mbu to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will get on your bike and start cycling around Mto wa Mbu Village while heading to the Wildlife Management Area. In this day you will get the privilege to get closer to nature. Our guide will explain the difference between national park and Wildlife Management Area while enjoying the wildlife nature such as zebras, wildebeests, impalas, and warthogs. Before lunch time you will cycle to a local family for local lunch. Through this you get to experience how the people live and we hope you also get a chance to see how they make their local beer/brew known as Banana beer. After this we go back to the camp and pick our staff ready to go to Ngorongoro Crater for dinner overnight stay.
 

ACCOMMODATION: Rhino Lodge/ Simba Camp, FB
Day5: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti N.P
Early in the morning after breakfast you will head to Ngorongoro crater floor. In the crater you are also likely to see lions, zebras, rhinos, hippos, elephants, hyenas and many members of the antelope family, and small mammals of all sorts. You will have a half day game drive in the park with picnic lunch. Afterwards you will be driven out of the crater heading towards Serengeti National Park which will take approximately 3 hour drive. On our way we will have game drive on route while heading to the lodge/ camp.

Day6: Serengeti to Lake Victoria (Lamadi)
We will have full day game drive on route while heading to Lamadi in Lake Victoria. The iconic Serengeti National Park has the stunning landscape that earned it the Maasai name Serengeti- Endless Plains. Today you’ll spend the entire day exploring this diverse and expansive landscape, with opportunities to spot all of the “Big Five”, as well as many other wildlife species, and the natural wonder of the world, the great migration. Before dark you’ll head to Spike Bay for dinner and a restful night sleep.

Day7: Lake Victoria
Today is a free relaxing day. This day can be tailored to suit your interests. If you can drag yourself away from your beautiful private chalet and the beach, then there are various water-based activities available which include snorkeling, and fishing. Sea kayaks can be used to explore the nearby mangrove creek, a good place to spot kingfishers and a host of other bird-life. You can also decide to stay in your bungalow and enjoy the gentle breeze and the wind.

Day8: Lake Victoria to Serengeti North (Lobo)
After breakfast you will be driven  to Serengeti Ntaional Park which will take 20 minutes from the Logde. Today while heading to North of Serengeti (Lobo) we will get a chance to do game-on-route. In North Serengeti  you will see the difference between Central and Northern land escapes and also you may likely see wild animals such as giraffes, zebras,  antelopes and other migratory animals. In the evening you will be driven back to the Campsite where you can swimm off the dust from the park, have dinner and a restful night.
ACCOMMODATION: Lobo Wildlife Lodge/ Camping, FB

Day9: Serengeti Lobo to Lake Natron
This day you will heve 2 hours early morning sunrise game drive then you will be driven to Lake Natron. We will stop at the Waso village for lunch and proceed with our drive to Ngarasero Camp for dinner and overnight stay. Those who will be interested to hike Ol Doinyo Lengai mountain the trekking will start in the mid of the night around 11pm

Day10: Lake Natron
In the morning after breakfast before it gets hot you will walk to Lake Natron which is a lake situated in the Northern region of Tanzania near the great East African rift valley.
The lake is very rich in soda and salt and habitat to numerous flamingos. In the evening you will visit the waterfalls. For those who will be back from hiking will rest until evening then join the group to the waterfalls that evening.
 

ACCOMMODATION: Ngarasero Campsite/ L. Natron Tented Lodge, FB

DAY 11: Ngarasero to Mto wa Mbu
After breakfast you pick your lunch box and will be driven to Mto wa Mbu via Shimo la Mungu and Engaruka ruins. We will stop for some time that you may get a chance to take nice photos. Those who did not visit Lake Natron will have a chance to do that this morning before we all leave to Mto wa Mbu.

Day 12: Arusha and drop off JRO APT
This will be the last day of our adventurous Safari. After breakfast the driver will be ready to drive you to Kilimanjaro International Airport. On the way we can stop for some shopping in the supermarket.  We will say good bye to the crew and wish you safe journey back home
Alternative Day 12: Lake Eyasi
Those who will be interested can visit Lake Eyasi for an overnight then in the morning get a chance to meet the Hadzabe tribe and learn how to do hunting thereafter drive to JRO Airport for safe flight back home.

End of Northern Circuit Adventure to Tanzania. Karibu tena!
