Overview

Day 1: Pick up, DAR APT
Following your arrival at Dar es Salaam Julius Nyerere International Airport, you will be met by a Tanzanian Velo Adventures representative who will transfer you to the Hotel where you stay for overnight.
ACCOMMODATION: White Sand, BB

Day 2: Dar es Salaam, Mbudya Island
Early morning after a heavy and healthy breakfast you will jump into a motorboat (20 minutes ride) to Mbudya Island one of the four Islands of Dar es Salaam Marine reserve for a refreshing get away.  Before darkness you will be driven back to the beach hotel where you will have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Bagamoyo
In the morning after breakfast you’ll be driven to Bagamoyo. In this historical town of Bagamoyo, you will be enlightened of how and where slaves and slavery trade were conducted in East Africa. You will also be educated about colonial error by visiting Old Boma which was the First German East Africa State House in East Africa, Old Fort you will also visit the banana plantations and the arts collage

Day 4: Bagamoyo
This day you will visit Kaole Ruins, Catholic Museum, Crocodile Farm, Old Port in East Africa, get the history of Caravanserai, The First Cross erected by the Missionary on the coast of East Africa, Dr. Livingstone’s Church, the fish market and many others places if time permits.

Day 5: Bagamoyo to Saadani National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will get on the jeep and be driven to Saadani National Park for game drive. What to see in Saadani National Park? In Saadani National Park You will spot animals like giraffe, buffalo, warthog, waterbuck, reedbuck, hartebeest, wildebeest, red duiker, greater kudu, eland, antelope, yellow baboon and vervet monkey, lion , leopard, spotted hyena , black-backed jackal hippos, crocodiles, elephants  ,Colobus monkeys , Warthogs , zebra , porcupines ,Bushbucks  , green turtles breed , bats, Humpback whales and dolphins and some birds like riverine birds like mangrove kingfisher, lesser flamingo, kingfishers, and fish eagles.

Day 6: Saadani National Park
After breakfast, you will go for a full day game drive. Before dark you will get back to the campsite for dinner and overnight stay

Day 7: Pangani Beach
This day can be tailored to suit your interests. If you can drag yourself away from your beautiful private chalet and the beach, then there are various water-based activities available which include snorkeling, windsurfing and fishing. Sea kayaks can be used to explore the nearby mangrove creek, a good place to spot kingfishers and a host of other bird-life. For those interested, Pangani itself is steeped in history and well worth a visit.

Day 8: Pangani to Magoroto Forest
After the morning breakfast, you will be driven to Muheza where we will go straight to Magoroto forest. Magoroto with its tropical rain forest is the perfect spot for a getaway and outdoor camping. The estate is located on an altitude of 850m above sea level where temperatures are pleasant all year long. The estate offers stunning views from the Muheza Valley to the Indian Ocean. Enjoy the lush rain forest with rare plants and bird species, explore the dense tropical forest with organic spices or have a picnic or swim in the beautiful lake. Dinner and overnight at Magoroto

Day 9: Amani Nature Reserve
Early morning after breakfast you will be driven to Amani Nature Reserven for some activities at Amani Forest Camp. The camp is known locally as Emau Hill which is the name of the hill on which the camp stands. Emau Hill’s lush green grounds are on the border of the pristine rain forest of the Amani Nature Reserve and offer excellent views of the forest.
You can wander around the camp, and relax in the forest seats, bar or your chosen spot. Some games can be found in the Restaurant as well as a wide range of novels and literature. Later you can decide on activity to be done before evening dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Lushoto to Mkomazi National Park
After breakfast we depart with lunch box to Mkomazi National Park. Set below the verdant slopes of the spectacular Usambara and Pare Eastern Arc Mountain ranges and overseen by iconic snow – capped peak of Kilimanjaro, Mkomazi a virgin breathtaking beauty exhibiting unique natural treasures and immense sense of space. Mkomazi is vital refuge for two highly endangered species, the charismatic black rhino and sociable African wild dog, both of which were successfully reintroduced in the 1990s. Nomadic by nature, wild dog might be seen almost anywhere in the park, but black rhino are restricted to a fenced sanctuary, ensuring their safe keeping for future generations enjoyment and prosperity.
Mkomazi supports several dry – country specialists’ species that are rare elsewhere in Tanzania; these include the spectacular fringe – eared Oryx, with its long back – sweeping horns, and the handsome spiral – horned lesser kudu. Oddest of all is the gerenuk, a gazelle distinguished by its slender neck, bizarre alien – like head, and habit of standing tall on its hind legs stretch for acacia leaves that other browsers cannot reach. You will arrive at noon in the park you will make game drive till late afternoon then drive to Babu’s Camp for dinner and your accommodation

DAY 11: Mkomazi National Park Full Day Game Drive:
After breakfast continue with morning game drive at Mkomazi National Park then drive back to the camp for hot lunch. Thereafter you will proceed with evening game drive till late evening then drive back to the Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Drop off, DAR Airport
This will be the last day of our adventurous Safari. We will leave Mkomazi and drive to Dar es Salaam International Airport. We will say good bye to the crew and wish you safe journey back home
