Overview

The Classic Kafue Safari is a great way to enjoy a river-based and plains or lake-based safari experience in Kafue National Park National all in one trip!

It consists of 3 nights at Konkamoya, 2 nights at Mayukuyu Bush Camp and 2 Nights at Busanga Plains, exploring the Southern and Nothern Kafue National Park. This safari starts and end in Lusaka.

DAY 1 – 4: Konkamoya Lodge

The Classic Kafue package begins in Lusaka with a 3 to 4 hours road transfer to the Lodge. Enjoy a game drive into camp and settle into the beautiful rooms to enjoy a 3 night stay. At Konkamoya Lodge we love to provides a true wilderness experience to our guests, and when night falls, the adventure continues. Drive into the African and catch a rare sighting of these curious mammals. For guests who are interested, accompanied by our experienced, knowledgeable guides, they can embark on a night game drive in search of nocturnal creatures. Prime time to see aardvark is between 23:00 and 01:00, when they come out their burrows to dig for termites! With a 90% success rate for spotting these elusive animals, Konkamoya is the place to capture the magic of the elusive aardvark!

DAY 4 – 6 Mayukuyu Bush Camp

Mayukuyuku Bush Camp is going to be the next Camp for the next 2 nights. It is located on the banks of the Kafue River in one of the most picturesque spots in the whole Park. The Kafue is one of the world’s largest game sanctuaries, about the size of Wales.

It is well known for it’s extremely diverse variety of terrain, wildlife and birds, probably second only to Serengeti, and is still fairly unexplored to this day. Four of the Big Five are here, plus Cheetah, Wild Dog, and over 450 species of birds.

You are unlikely to see many other people or vehicles which gives a sensation of having a private safari. The animals are sometimes more elusive than in other more commercialized parks, but this makes your sightings all the more special.

DAY 6 – 8 Kafwala Tented Camp

This will be your last Camp for the next 2 nights. The camp is situated in Kafue's Busanga Plains. Secluded and special, the Busanga Plains can be found in the north of Zambia’s Kafue National Park, one of the continent’s largest protected spaces. If it’s raw nature, off-the-beaten-track and authentic that you want out of a trip to Africa, this region delivers. The plains are positioned on an ancient lake bed which undergoes regular flooding during Zambia’s rainy season (November to April).

DAY 8 Transfer to Lusaka

Transfer to Ukazi Lodge or Palmwood Lodge in Lusaka for your Last Night. Own arrangement for Lunch and Dinner

Day 9

Full of great impressions and good memories from the last 8 days you will be transfered to Lusaka Airport in time of your flight.
