Overview

The Starting Point of this trip is in Andasibe-Mantandia National Park (Perinet) which has unique wildlife, orchids, and other rare plants, many species of lemurs, Reptiles, amphibians…this exceptional nature can be explored on foot between waterfall, river and rain forests.  Then we cross the high land down to the southeast coast of Madagascar. We will make a stop at National park Ranomafana, then explore the high land scenic views.

ITINERARY: 

DAY 1: Airport Arrival meet – Hotel Transfer

I and our team and the bus will join you from your arrival at Ivato Airpot –Antananarivo –Madagascar at the mentioned time. It our job to assist you to through the rest of the arrival process. Changing Money, Getting a SIM card for your phone, getting some data set up on your SIM, and anything else you need. Introduce you to your driver and the Bus then transfer you to your hotel in the center of Antananarivo.

DAY 2: 8:00 Am – Antananarivo to Andasibe Perinet. 4hrs drive

This morning, after your good breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel with the same driver and Bus. Then we will drive directly to Andasibe for a 4h: 00 min drive on the National Road N°2 to the east of the capital. On the route, we can stop at Madagascar Exotic, which is a privately run reserve at Marozevo and is situated between the towns of Manjakandriana and the Moramanga district. This happens to be a very popular tourist spot, so make your day memorable! Catch sights of different Chameleon, butterflies, moths, Boa and insects here. We will pass to Moramanga village of Bezanozano tribe where we can have our lunch then will reach Andasibe village in the late afternoon.

6:00 Pm -Nocturnal Visit at V-O-I-M-M- A Park.

This Guided night walk at V.O.I.M.M.A community Park will allow you to see the many species that are only active at night such as Mouse lemur and the others. The letter sequence, V .O. I.M.M.A is an abbreviation for Vondron’ny Olona Ifotony Mitia sy Miarony Ala which means: Indigenous Community Group Cherishing and Protecting the Forest.

DAY 3: 7:00 Am –Visit Analamazaotra National Park and Vakona Reserve.

The Mantandia forest is one of the protected areas finds next of Andasibe village, such as it still keeps the rain forest, it the best park to spot the Madagascar wildlife. This national park is home to 108 birds’ species, 72% mammal species, including 12 species of lemurs, and the biggest one called Indri-Indri, such as the Golden Sifaka, Bamboo, 51% species of reptiles, 84%species of amphibians, and 350 species of macro-insects. Our native Professional English local Guide will lead and provide you the full details of information about everything in the forest. The hike duration usually doing from 3 to 4 hours, visitors can choose to depend on their ability and desire. I recommend bringing some snake or pic-nick lunch if you choose the longest one.

11:30 Am- Walk back to the car to have lunch at the restaurant.

2:00 Pm – Vakona Hotel Reserve Visit.

After lunch, you will enjoy an amazing up close and personal experience with lemurs on the private lemur island, a short walk from the Vakona Restaurant, and the reserve in the hotel grounds, where you will see Crocodiles farm, endemic bird species…etc.

DAY 4: 8:00 Am-Andasibe National Park – Antsirabe town.

After you morning breakfast at the Restaurant, we assist you to put back your bags in the car and start our drive on the mine road N°2 and pass to Tananarive to get the National Road N°7 to Antsirabe Village.  The whole drive will take us for around 8 hours on the good road with a stop in Tananarive for lunch. You will enjoy the landscape, the new view of the highland with the hills covered by the rice fields. We can spot the souvenir picture on the way if you want.

After a 2hour drive from Antananarivo on the National road N° 7, we will pass at Ambatolampy village. This town is the best-known cause of ubiquitous marmites “Aluminum Pots” which you can see in every household, and on the roadside. Here is possible to visit and see how they make it with their hands with special land that can’t find anywhere.

After the visit, we back on the road again to keep driving to reach the town of Antsirabe: This city is best known for its Thermal springs Water. The city emerged as a SPA town in the late of 1800s when Norwegian missionaries built a Health retreat here (still in use to now day). When the French colonist arrived, changed it into a Chic getaway from nearby Tananarive. And now the village looks as typical of French cities. Here we can Visit the Zebu horn and the Miniature, Gemstone workshop.

Day 6: 7:00 Am- Antsirabe town to Ranomafana National Park. 5hrs

This Morning, we will go to spend few hours to see how best the town, with “¨Pouss-Pouss” is. First, we start to Visit the Zebu horn and Miniature, Gemstone workshop, and the oldest cathedral: The town has numerous works hope with quality handicrafts. Recycled metal is used to make miniature bikes and cars, zebu horns are used as material for decorative objects or cooking accessories, precious Stones are polished to become jewels. You will have the opportunity to see how these local products are transformed, thanks to the ingenuity of these craft men.

After that visit, we will keep driving through on National Road N° 7 and will have our break for lunch in the restaurant at Ambositra village. Here, you will have an opportunity to visit the local woodcraft market where you can buy some typical handmade craft as a souvenir. Then we will keep driving out to Ranomafana Village.

 6:00 Pm –Checking at the Hotel with welcome juice and the staff will arrange your language to your room.

Day 6: 7:30 Am -Ranomafana guided visit – Fianarantsoa city.

This morning, we go to the park entrance to get our tickets and also meet the local guide. Ranomafana means 'hot water in the Malagasy language. The area is also home to the smallest mammals, reptiles, and insects, as well as Palms, orchids, and carnivorous plants. There are 26 species of lemurs that have been identified, including two species of Great rarity (camouflaged hawthorn and golden hawthorn). You will also observe many birds, as well as rare species. If you love nature and animals, you will not be disappointed: many butterflies, bats, and lemurs coexist in these forests. You will also find unique plant species in the world that grow only in this park. Various medicinal plants, but also a wide variety of orchids and carnivorous plants that litter the soil and trees. Our hike into this popular park will take us around 4hours by the slowest speed to photograph all.

It is also recommended to provide waterproof cloths due to frequent rain, as well as anti-mosquito gels that will repel mosquitoes and leeches.

11:30 Am –Back the Bus then have lunch at the restaurant. Keep driving us to Fianarantsoa city after lunch about 2 hours’ drive from Ranomafana Park.

Day 7: Fianarantsoa - Antananarivo.7hrs

After your early morning breakfast, we will back on the road again to reach the capital of Madagascar. We will have lunch en-route at the restaurant and able to have a landscape picture break as well. Will get to the Hotel in the late afternoon in Tana.

Day 8: ANTANANARIVO –AIRPORT - HOME

Today depends on your flight schedule that we will be happy to guide you around the capital center of Antananarivo, to get some souvenirs before home. Our services will end after drop you off two hours earlier for the flight check-in to home.
