Overview

Zambia North circuit falls expedition will drive you at the discover of all the beautiful waterfalls in the rain forest of central Africa.

What you will do:

Day 1

LUSAKA (Start)

Arrive Lusaka International Airport you meet the trip leader. Transfer to lodge. Later in the evening meet the trip leader on the tour briefing.

Day 2

KUNDALILA FALLS

Early morning we drive great north road. Along way will be passing colourful roadside farmers markets. We visit our first Waterfall Kundalila Named after the cooing of doves, this 70 metre high waterfall is located just east of the Great North Road in a very scenic setting. From the top of the waterfall you can see the beautiful panorama view of Luangwa Valley, and at the bottom you can swim in a crystal clear pool. Day 3

SAMFYA BEACH

Samfya is a town located in the Zambian province of Luapula. It is the center of Samfya District. The town is located on the south-western shore of Lake Bangweulu, on the longest stretch of well-defined shore of that lake. Day 4

MUMBULUMA FALLS

After breakfast we drive north to Mumbuluma Falls, situated 33km from Mansa town, cascades down in two steps on the Mumbuluma River. The temple for the protective spirits, Makumba and his sister Ngosa, are situated
some distance south of the Falls. We proceed to ntumbachushi falls to set camp. Meals : Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner Accommodation : Camping ( below close to the falls) Activity: Mumbuluma Falls Guided Tour

Day 5

NTUMBACHUSHI FALLS

A series of water pools and rapids culminating in the main falls about 30m high on the Ng’ona River. This very picturesque waterfall was believed to be a sanctuary of spirits while the waters of the Ng’ona River are used for bathing chiefs before they are installed on the throne so as to cleanse them of bad luck and misfortune. Day 6

LUMANGWE FALLS

After breakfast we head north to Lumangwe waterfalls which look like a smaller version of Victoria Falls. 35m high and 100m across, the falls nourish a small rain forest on the Kalungwishi River. Spectacular panoramic view of the waterfalls.

Day 7

CHISHIMBA FALLS

After breakfast we drive north east to Chisimba Falls is a waterfall located in kasama Zambia. It is part of the Luombe River, which runs 7.2km from the Chilubula Mission in Kasama District. Day 8

KALAMBO FALLS

Kalambo Falls is the second highest waterfall in Africa. Located (32 km) from Mbala town in Northern Province, it is a single uninterrupted stream of water that flows (220 metres) from the Kalabo river into a gorge. The hike up to the top of the falls can take between two to four hours depending on physical fitness. Comfortable and appropriate footwear is recommended as the hike trail passes through the bush. Kalambo Falls is considered an important archaeological stone age site. Day 9 to 10

KAPISHYA HOT SPRINGS

Early morning after breakfast we drive south to Kapishya hot springs in the shiwa ngandu district. The magnificent hotspring surrounded by a forest full of birdlife. Meals: Breakfast | Dinner Activity: Sunset watch | Shiwa Farm Guided Tour

Day 11

MKUSHI

After breakfast we head south to Mkushi is a town in the Central Province of Zambia, located on the Great North Road and the Tazara railway, northeast of Kapiri Mposhi. Meals: Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner Accommoadation : Camping (Forest Inn) Activity: N/A

Day 12

LUSAKA

After breakfast we transfer to Lusaka along the way we make few stop overs at side road green markets as well as craft stands. Evening we meet for our last Dinner Meals: Breakfast | Dinner Accommodation: Dorm Room (Optional Upgrade)

Day 13

LUSAKA (END)

After breakfast Airport transfer.
