You do not have enough time to climb Kilimanjaro to the top? & you want to experience the Mountain up close? Then a day trip to Kilimanjaro will be perfect for you.
This day trip will take you to the first hut, 2700m high feel the mountain for a single day while hiking through the thick rain forest of Kilimanjaro. Enjoy a breath-taking view of the highest mountain in Africa.
No special mountain climbing gear will be required. All that will be needed for the trek is comfortable clothing, comfortable walking shoes, and a raincoat in case it rains on your way up.
Hike through the rainforest up to the Mandara hut. The forest is full of wildlife, huge old trees, birds, and fascinating animals like Colobus monkeys-don’t forget your camera. Get to Mandara hut, feel the mountain, and have your lunch.
After lunch, hike back to the park gate and drive back to Moshi or Arusha.
Itinerary
Day Tour.
07:00/0800 Hours: You will be picked from your hotel in Arusha/Moshi and drive to Marangu gate to start your tour.
0900 Hours: At the gate, you will meet with our well-experienced guide who will give you brief information about the hike.
The walk normally takes about 3-4 hours to the first hut (Mandara hut) and you will arrive there in the afternoon.
1300 Hours: Lunch will be served at the hut. Enjoy the great view over the Moshi district from the Mandara hut.
1400 Hours: After your lunch, your guide will give you a short walk to the Maundi crater before walking back to the Marangu gate.
It is a 2 hours walk. Will be walking slowly as you observe for anything that you might have missed on your way up.
1600 Hours: At Marangu gate, you will meet with your guide and he will take you back to the lodge.
1730 Hours to 1800 Hours: Return back to your hotel.
