Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) - Arusha

The group arrives at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Participants are met by a representative of Alaitol Safari and transferred to a hotel in Arusha.

Dinner and overnight at Gran Melia Arusha Hotel.

DAY 2: Manyara - Tarangire Ecosystem

After breakfast depart to Maramboi Tented Lodge with arrival for Hot Lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a guided Bush Walk to the Manyara Lake Shore and learn about this Ecosystem. Although good game viewing is often more difficult on foot sightings, it still can be incredibly rewarding and your local guide will explain the little things, the birds, the insects, and the ecology.

DAY 3: Tarangire National Park

In the morning drive with picnic-lunch to Tanzania’s third largest National Park for Game Drives. Tarangire National Park offers are large elephant population and the majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the Park. Spend the day inside the National Park with Game Drives and return to your lodge in the afternoon.

DAY 4: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast continue to Lake Manyara National Park. Although this National Park is small in size, it still offers are a large number of animal species and a large variety of habitats: acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. In the afternoon drive up the Rift Valley to Karatu Town.

DAY 5: Visit Hadzabe and Datoga Tribe

Day-Trip to Lake Eyasi and visit the Hadzabe Bushmen, where you will learn how they hunt using bows and arrows made from the willow tree and how they gather their food. This tribe is very primitive and a visit to them is an unforgettable experience.

The Datoga People are more sedentary as they practice agriculture and keep livestock. It is sometimes possible to see a group of men crafting metal arrowheads or earrings and bracelets using primitive hand bellows to stoke the open fires.

DAY 6: Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti

Today you will descent 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for a half-day crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephant, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lion hunt for food. Picnic lunch will be serving in the crater. After Lunch, drive to Serengeti National Park.

DAY 7: Serengeti Valley

After breakfast in the morning you will have safari in the eastern and southern parts of the park.The greater part of these areas is a savanna with wide open spaces, which provides a likely opportunity to see cheetah hunting antelopes. In the evening you will be transferred to a hotel, where you will have dinner and be able to rest.

DAY 8: Serengeti Valley

After breakfast you will start the safari by being transferred to the central part of the Serengeti (also called Seronera). Here your driver will try to find the animals you're the most interested in. Closer to lunch-time you will visit the Serengeti Visitor Centre, where you will be offered a lunchbox and provided with lots of interesting information not only about the animals’ populations, but also about the history of the National Park. Also, in this area you will be able to see hyraxes, which are the elephant's closest relatives. It is difficult to describe in detail all the animals of the Serengeti valley, for they number in the thousands: elephants, buffalo, ostriches, giraffes, jackals, hyenas, lions, antelopes, leopards and cheetahs just keep your eyes peeled and enjoy the nature around you. By the evening you will be transferred to the northern part of the Serengeti and then to your lodge.

DAY 9: Serengeti Valley( Balloon Safari) - Arusha

The Serengeti balloon Safari starts early, you will be pick up from your lodge and driving to the launch site before dawn, on the way you may see some nocturnal animals. Your hot air balloon rises as the sun rises, and offering a different view over the amazing scenery and wildlife below.

After landing, enjoy a traditional champagne celebration and an Out of Africa breakfast prepared and served in the bush. Thereafter continue with game drive in the Serengeti National Park.

Lunch at the lodge. After lunch drive to Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey's renewed archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man's earliest known ancestral remains. Continue driving to Arusha for dinner and overnight.

DAY 10: Departure

Rest in the hotel or you can do a city tour or you can visit souvenir and jewelry stores (where tanzanite stones can be bought) and transfer to JRO for departure flight in the evening.
