Overview

Day 1:

ANTANANARIVO

Arrival at the Ivato international. Meet with our guide-driver and transfer to hotel.
Bed & Breakfast at PANORAMA

Day 2:

ANTANANARIVO – AMBATOLAMPY - ANTSIRABE

Breakfast at the hotel, departure to Antsirabe.
Typical landscape of the highland: vast fields of rice and wheat, charming laterite coloured villages.
On the way, visit of a traditional workshop making pots with a rudimentary material.
Lunch at the restaurant AU RENDEZ-VOUS DES PECHEURS
Arrival at Antsirabe, installation at the hotel.
Half board accommodation at LES CHAMBRES DU VOYAGEUR, 

Day 3:

ANTSIRABE – MIANDRIVAZO

Morning visit of the city and the surroundings and a semi-precious stone shop, and a silkworm treatment workshop. Possibility of a rickshaw tour depending on the weather.
Lunch in restaurant.

After lunch, continuation westwards.

Half board accommodation at PRINCESSE TSIRIBIHINA HOTEL 

Day 4:

MIANDRIVAZO / BEGINNING OF THE EXPEDITION

After breakfast, transfer to Masiakampy (35km), embarcation point.10.30: Embarkment on board the badge at Masiakampy 35 km fromMiandrivazo; beginning of the trip Lunch on board Crossing the Gorge of Bemaraha, aquatic birds such as wild ducks and herons . 17.00. Arrival at the cascade: Bath. Installation of the camping. Dinner on board the barge.

Day 5:

CROSSING THE GORGE OF BEMARAHA

07.30 Second incursion in the swimming pool. 08.30 Continuation of the trip and breakfast on board. Crossing the GORGE OF BEMARAHA, full day watching the crocodiles, bats and other aquatic birds. Visit of a fishermen village, possibility to purchase fresh fishes for the lunch (barbecue). Lunch on bord Stop and visit the forest of Ambatomainty to discover the Sifaka and other varieties of lemurs Entry and crossing the plain of Menabe. 17.00 Arrival in

front of the village of TSARAOTANA. Installation of the bivouac on the bank. 19.30 Dinner on bord, campfire on the beach, meeting with the children of the

village. Night under tent

Day 6:

CROSSING THE COASTAL PLAIN OF THE MENABE / BELO SUR TSIRIBIHINA / BEKOPAKA
Departure at 8:00, breakfast aboard. Crossing the coastal plain of Menabe. Visit of the village of Berevo. Lunch around Tsaraotana.

Disembarkation in Belo sur Tsiribihina.

Continuation by car to Bekopaka.
Arrival at Bekopaka at the end of the afternoon.
Half board accommodation at OLYMPE DU BEMARAHA**

Day 7:

BEKOPAKA

Departure by car to the village of Ankanijao.
Continuation on foot till the West edge of the Antsingy along the savannah and some undergrowth. Visit of the “Grand Tsingy”In the afternoon, excursion by pirogue up the Manambolo river. View of Andolombazimba cemetery in the rocks overhanging the river.Full board accommodation at OLYMPE DU BEMARAHA

Day 8: BEKOPAKA / BELO SUR TSIRIBIHINA / MORONDAVA

After the breakfast drive back to Morondava. Stop on road for photography:Beroboka forest, Sakalava tombs, alley of baobabs....Arrive in Morondava in the afternoon.Half board accommodation at KIMONY RESORT***,

Day 9:

MORONDAVA / ANTANANARIVO / PARIS

Transfer to airport according to the flight schedule to Antananarivo.Arrival in Antananarivo, lunch in restaurant.In the afternoon, visit of the famous handicraft market; and then transfer to ORCHID HOTEL, (5 mn from the airport) for a day use (late check out).Dinner at the hotel and, transfer to airport for the return flight.

Privacy Policy

Bookings and subsequent contracts shall be deemed to have been concluded in MADAGASCAR and shall be interpreted according to the laws of the Republic of MADAGASCAR. The Company reserves the right to decline any booking without outlining the reasons for it. DEPOSIT & PAYMENT A 50% deposit is required to secure a booking. This deposit forms part of the payment for the trip and shall be offset to the total amount charged to the client/agent. If the full amount is not paid at least six (6) weeks prior to departure, the Company reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled and the deposit shall be forfeited. Clients/Agents booking within six (6) weeks of tour departure are required to pay the full amount immediately to secure the reservation. All bank charges are to be settled by the client or agent respectively. This includes transaction fees charged by our bank. The amount shown on the invoice is the amount that needs to reflect in our account and should bank charges have been deducted, we would have to invoice you subsequently. BOOKING AMENDMENTS For amendments of existing bookings done by the client/ agent (e.g. departure dates, air tickets, accommodation, number of participants etc) a handling fee of 50 USD per booking applies. The handling fee will be charged in addition to the service provider fees. CANCELLATIONS Cancellations must be sent in writing to the office that confirmed the reservation. Cancellations shall only be effective from the date of receipt of cancellation by the booking office. In case of a booking cancellation, the Company shall return the full deposit. If a booking is cancelled the client is subject to a cancellation fee as follows: until 3 months prior to departure – 25% Cancellation Fee 3-2 months prior to departure – 50% Cancellation Fee 2-1 months prior to departure – 75% Cancellation Fee less than a 1 month prior to departure – 100% Cancellation Fee The Company reserves the right to cancel any tour at its sole and absolute discretion, without prior notification in instances where this is unavoidable. However, in that case the Company agrees to refund all monies already paid by the client. This shall be the Company’s sole responsibility to the client and no claim for any damages, howsoever arising, shall accrue against the company. PASSPORTS, VISAS & TRAVEL PAPERS It is the client’s sole responsibility to ensure that passports, visas, health certificates, proof of vaccinations and any other documentation required are all in order for the countries to be visited. The Company cannot be held liable for any consequences, damages or claims if the client does not attend correctly to the client’s documentation and related matters prior to commencement of the tour. TRAVEL INSURANCE All customers travelling with Hortensia Adventures are required to have fully comprehensive travel insurance. The policy needs to be valid from the date that the initial order is placed so as to provide cover for a cancellation prior to departure. During travel the insurance needs to provide comprehensive medical, evacuation and repatriation cover. BAGGAGE At any time, all baggage and personal effects are at the client’s responsibility and the Company does not accept any liability for any loss or damage of any personal effects, howsoever arising. Clients are entitled to one bag of not more than 15 kg (backpack or soft bag – no hardtop suitcase) and a daypack. The Company reserves the right to refuse excess baggage. Please notice that on our trekking tours and on some “bush” flights other baggage regulations may apply. RISK The client accepts that all tours are of an adventurous nature and involve an element of personal risk
